How we check
Every item on this site links to its official source, and every item shows the date we last checked it there. Here is what that means.
Where items come from
Each morning our research process looks for open settlement claims, free sweepstakes and public bank offers. It uses news and listing sites only to discover leads. Nothing is listed until its official source has been read: the claim site run by the court-appointed administrator, a government site, the sponsor’s official rules, or the bank’s own offer page. Details that came only from other sites are not presented as checked.
What we check
- The link goes to the real official site, not a look-alike.
- The deadline, and the closing time when the rules give one.
- What one person can get, not the size of the whole fund.
- Whether you need proof, a receipt or an ID from a mailed notice.
- Who qualifies, including state and age limits.
- About how many minutes the form takes.
The rules every item passes
Every item is checked against strict written rules, and code decides what may be published. Official pages are read as plain data. If an item cannot be confirmed on its official source within the last 7 days, or fails any rule, it is held back and not shown. We do not list surveys, gambling of any kind, or anything that needs a purchase or an up-front fee.
Keeping it current
Items closing soon are re-checked every day; the rest at least every few days. The date on each item is its last successful check, which counts only when the official page itself was read. Each item page has a check log showing when it was last confirmed and what changed. Sweepstakes and bonuses leave the list when they end. Settlements stay as “closed” pages so you can see when payments start.
Mistakes
Official sites change, and we can be wrong too. The official site always has the final word. If you spot an error, email hello@passiveyolk.com and we will fix it.
