Privacy
Short version: reading this site needs nothing from you. We set no cookies, run no tracking scripts and have no ads.
Reading the site
- Our web host keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type and the page requested) for a short time for security and troubleshooting, as almost every host does. We do not use them to identify or follow anyone.
- A tiny counter records the date and the page viewed so we know which pages are useful. It stores no IP address and sets no cookie.
If you sign up for The Yolk Report by email
- We store your email address, the schedule you picked (evenings or Sundays), and when you signed up and confirmed.
- To stop abuse of the form, we keep a one-way scrambled version of your IP address for about a day, then delete it. It cannot be turned back into the address.
- Confirmation emails are sent through Resend, our email provider, which processes your address only to deliver our emails.
- Addresses that are never confirmed are deleted after about a week.
- We never sell, rent or share the list.
- To be removed at any time, use the unsubscribe link in any email or write to us.
Your done list
If you use Mark as filed (or entered, opened or searched), one small script on this site saves those items in your browser’s local storage on your device: the item names, links and deadlines, the dates you marked them, and for daily sweepstakes how many days you entered. If you pick a state to narrow the lists, that choice is kept the same way. No cookie is involved. The list is never sent to us or anyone else, and it does not follow you to another device. Anyone who uses this browser can see it. You can clear it on My list or by clearing this site’s data in your browser.
If you leave a tip
- Card tips go through Ko-fi (ko-fi.com) and its payment processor, Stripe. We never see your card details; Ko-fi and Stripe handle them under their own privacy policies. We see the name, email and any message you give Ko-fi, and use them only to say thanks.
- Tips are gifts. They never affect what we list.

Official claim, sweepstakes and bank sites have their own privacy policies. Read them before you share information there.
